updated my a 780 through the remote yesterday as per instructions and i think the glitching is worse, can anybody think for what reason.anybody having same problems cheers bash
Noticed alot of glitching today. I applied the update this evening to try to stop it, but its just as bad and actually getting worse. Seems to glitch every few mins. Some freezing for a couple of seconds, but some black screens and 'scrambled or no video' for a couple of mins at a time.
When you updated your firmware did you Factory default your box and do a new scan?? do you have a providers box ?? did you reboot your router ??
don,t have a providers box and ain't turned router off . do i need to and yes did factory default and rescanned
well maybe your signal is turned down to not having a subbed box what is your signal and quality levels like ?? % wise you will need at least 75 /80 on both quality and signal anything under that you are going to have problems. In saying that i think the krypt support is dropping a bit as this should not be happening now and they should be trying to get it sorted by looking at what everyone keeps saying is the server which to me its not that but down to individual set up. but sure who knows/
signal is between 75-80 and higher ,still pay a subscription to vir--n and its not just me .a few people having similar problems, have rebooted the router maybe that'll sort it
Seems to have settled down now. @E45: Did all the things you said other than reboot the router. (When I have had a router related issue before though its a case of all or nothing - This was just intermittent freezing) When I did the factory default and scan I noted the sig strength/quality was at the same levels as always (and I have a subbed box). Could have been provider problem - Nothing showing on their website. Could have been a server issue - but I have no way of checking.
is your subbed box connected ?? if not your provider knows you are not using your box and will reduce your signal as on all providers boxes they have a talk back feature unlike the dodgy boxes as people have been be told before these boxes are not the same as the older boxes which where just a cable connection so it was either a cable or your provider problem now you have extra stuff in there you have an internet connection you have a server which is situated in another part of the world put them all in the mix what do you get lots of things that can go wrong now im not saying its not a kryptview probem it could be who knows but people always seem to think it is you all knew the risk involved before buying any of these boxes be it kryptview starview ddigital combo there was risks of up and down time remember you have timing issues with co*** coming back and forth if your net misses one of them which would be a packet which many internet lines do they lose packets on the way what happens your box glitches pixalates etc. so if you want an uninterrupted service from any of the boxes pay a full sub or pay for sky remember you are paying a third of the price of what you are supposed to be paying so why complain. how much a year do you save on a full package against the cost of a £150 quid box
Subbed box is connected. Understand everything you have said. Wasn't complaining. Was using this forum as a medium to highlight that it was more than one person who was having slight issues today. The point being to alert those in the know that there may have been issues that someone in serverland might want to check just in case. I've got a lot of help from people on here and am grateful. Am trying to do my bit to give something back.
yes can understand that but as i say its not always going to be down to a server belong to and of the working boxes if it where a server issue all channels would be off and if the glitching is occurring in one area but not another well what can ya put that down to then its always going to be a case of cat and mouse syndrome to find out what exactly is causing the problem like my channels where all good ok very small bit of pixalating on espn but that is to be expected a normal 10 sec drop out from time to time will be a normal experience. as i say there is so much in the mix now its nearly impossible to pinpoint what is causing it to happen it can be your net dropping a packet which means you dont get your ke** quick enough to a signal outage or a drop in areas im not having a go im just trying to explain this to people and im sure the people to be are great full for the feed back
i'm pretty sure this has something to with bandwidth. especially when everyones tuned into watch the football on espn. This is the only times when I've noticed the freezing to be that bad. Yesterday it was freezing in and out of picture, probably for 10 sec and then complete halt for 5 minutes. Pretty damn annoying, but what can you do? I did reset the modem and router, but by then footy had finished and the problem had eased up.
but, this is just a guess, wouldnt that be the case all the time, as folk are using their boxs whether to view footy or normal programmes, the load would be constant on the server, like i said, just a guess, but there may be something in it alrite and the packet data could be slowed up during games when a lot of folk are watching them,
yep that would be my own view its the data packets getting lost not an excuse regardless they still should check it their end anyways but as ser**** are out side the country it could be down to the area getting bombarded with net use maybe their infrastructure cannot handle it who knows but im sure its been looked into well i hope anyways
Like I said, there is something in it alrite and I hazard a guess about it not happening all the time, its Hi Time they looked at there servers if this is gonna be the norm
sounds like packet data is being dropped when in high usage, now I know it cant be everyones router doing this, but perhaps a reboot before a big game to see if this helps, long shot, but at least it eliminates their own set up and I wonder if those not on a VM bband / tv pack experiance the same issue with freezing etc at key times such as footy............ be interesting to hear
Please bear in mind where servers are situated and the infrastructure around them prob no where near what we have and with all the flooding amongst other things there is no way of find what the problem is its an intermittent prob and with that its like trying to find a needle in a haystack. server, card, net, cable, quality of the signal where do you start ??? We all new the risk when we bought so now you have to go with the flow it dont matter what box it is but card share is just exactly that they all suffer the same problems regardless.
