I am trying to analyze the DVD and it says it will take 40 HOURS to ANALYZE!!!! What is up with that? What am I doing wrong here? All guides tell me this process should take a few minutes only. Do I need to tweak something? Please help ASAP... I need to return this DVD in the next few days, lol.

    TIA )

Make sure the DVD is clean
Make sure you have the lastest/last version of shrink..
    check/get it here..http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/

Make sure you have DMA turned on for all drives.
    see how here..http://www.onthegosoft.com/dma_setting_nt.htm

Make sure it's not set to run in low priority mode.

Thanks for the info. Your advice brought the time down to 40 mins. for analysis. This still seems long don't you think?

Not really, depending on the quality settings and the movie you're backing up, this could be quite normal. The process does go alot faster when backing up the main movie only and no compression is needed.

Encoding and processing time will vary computer to computer depending upon the system specs and how much RAM you have and whether or not you are running other programs along with the burning process.

My system specs are listed in my signature and I can do a backup totally from start to finish in about 40 minutes using AnyDVD, DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter.

If I use AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 my times are normally 25 to 30 minutes total.

Hi all, I must be doing something wrong (or right by the sound of things). It usually takes me less than 1 min to analyse and never more than 15 mins to do a full disc backup. Ave speed is 8000kb/s but I have had it go as high as 15000. I haven't tried any of the latest movies and was wondering if the added protection is bringing the speeds down to this level.

I have a P4HT 3.66khz with 1gb ddr which is similar to other specs mentioned.
