Hi guys downloaded my first song from I-Tunes and i cant do aythign with it apart from play it on I-Tunes !! is there a way of making it an mp3?? so i can play it on WMP and burn it??
The way I do it is burn the file onto an audio disk. This seems to eliminate the protection that iTunes implements on the track. Then you can just rip the song back from the CD onto your computer. If the file you have isn't downloaded from the iTunes music store you can convert it by opening up your Prefrences [under Edit in iTunes] and going to the Advanced tab. Click on the Importing tab and change the 'Import Using' to MP3 Encoder, and select a quality level. You can then select the songs you'd like to convert [if you want to do an entire album, or your entire collection hit ctrl+a to select all the songs] then right click and click Convert Selection To MP3 from the menu that appears.
Sorry I should have specified, try burning with iTunes. Make a playlist of the song(s) [click file, new playlist, drag the songs into that playlist on the left] click on the playlist and then on the top right there will be a burn icon. Just a circle looking thing. Put a blank CD in and click the burn icon, I believe the first time preps it and the second one initiates the burn, but just click it until it starts. You might want to check what your burn speed is set to as well. Go Prefrences -> Advanced -> Burning and change the burn speed to whatever it is you prefer for your media. Sometimes errors occur going at max speed. 8x is generally a pretty safe number.
i did burn it on I Tunes on to a disc but the sound quality is awful.. really poor.i tried dragging the song then from the disc to my desktop but it wouldnt move.
Is the sound quality on the track you downloaded bad as well? It generally isn't good from ITMS because the downloads are at 128kbps, a good distance from CD quality which can be in the upper 900's if I remember correctly. But I wouldn't say it sounds awful I can't think of what would degrade the sound quality from computer to disc unless you are using poor quality media. And can you usually drag and drop audio files off of a disc? Try importing it from the disc with Windows Media player. Also, did you make an audio disc or a data disc? A data disc might preserve the DRM implemented by iTunes.
I bought this software and it lost all the drivers to my sound card and DVD Drives. Please also see these reviews before parting with your money to SoundTaxi http://www.topshareware.com/reviews/43301-1/soundtaxi.htm
I got it off the website. And any e-mails concerning the software not working were ignored. Seems more than a coincidence that others were having the same problems
Impresa - this is just another link to Soundtaxi!!! In September I tried to instal software again but got an error message saying my licence had expired and I would have to buy another. Deciding to give them the benefit of the doubt I paid for another licence, but the same thing happened. Any e-mails to the website were unanswered by them. If they were prepared to offer a refund or give me some assistance to get their software to work then I am afraid I will continue to have a negative opinion about them
ST worked perfectly up until the point of having to do a windows repair. And I lost my license code... but they provided me with it rapidly! Contact once again
Why would I want to contact them again when they have already ignored my e-mails on two separate occassions. Not only that, I have paid for licences twice and am still no further forward. I would recommend anyone tread carefully before dealing with Soundtaxi and parting with their money!
