    I can't get Shrink to condense/shrink it for back-up -

Keeps wanting to save all instead

I keep getting the dreaded RED BAR

Tried on 2 computers - 1 where rarely see this

    Other where never seen it

    Any help appreciated ...

It's normal to see the red bar.
What percent compression does Shrink report?
Have you tried removing anything to lower the compression?

The red bar I keep seeing is AFTER Shrink is supposed

    to have finished compressing it

That has not happened in all these years

It's as though Shrink never compressed it,

but I know it has been through the usual compressing process,

but now the red bar is there when in the past it is always gone

I think I followed your approach above & got after Shrink tried

    to compress a doc said to be 5.406 MB [ 4,464 + 5,412 RED BAR ]

    - of course too big for a regular 4.7 DVD.

I will try to save it to a 4.7 RW, but what else can I try?

I got it to shrink by using Shrink 5 times.

But the old footage was losing enough clarity,

even tho I made a backup,

that I am going to try using a double = DVD +RDL

I will keep U posted - unless U have more ideas

Looks like the disc was bad --> 2 coasters, 1 of which was a DL

I'm taking it back if they will take it

Its a VG DVD if U like ABBA

    Thanks for your help anyway
