Hi! I hope this is the right forum to post my question.
I'm trying to rip "About a Boy" Dvd
(if it can be useful I live in Italy)
I have AnyDVD, DVD Region + CSS Free, DVD Decrypter, Clone DVD2, DVD Shrink .
I succeded in ripping the DVD to HD with DVD Decrypter (even if my Mashita couldn't read it, so I used the LG one) first with the "ISO read mode" but the ISO image is 7 Giga and couldn't burn it to disc.
So I tried the "File mode" , if I open the VIDEO _ TS folder and play it I can see the Movie perfectly but cannot burn it to disc.
I have already thrown away 2 dvds (Verbatim 8x R+) and really wish I could have this movie on disc.
    can you help me?
thank you ..hope I made myself clear.

"the drive D has region protection

    drive region code : 2
    user changes left: 3
    vendor resets left: 4
The Disc ABOUT_A_BOY has CSS protection

    disc region code: 2"

this is what I get if I scan the DVD (original copy) with DVD Region + CSS Free.
Even VOB Blanker won't let me process it (at least one error)

now I've thrown away 3 DVDs ...please help!!

both DVD Devrypter and IMGBurn trying to burn my Image (movie only , no extras) say the same thing:

    " Peripheral Device Write Fault"
" Illegal Mode for this Track"

Sort of the same thing happening with "The Da Vinci Code"

    :( :(

    mrwatson,
Try these 2 programs, you can use these FREE for 21 days. As much as you like for 21 days, after that you would need to purchase them.
    AnyDVD & CloneDVD 2.
    CloneDVD 2 http://static.slysoft.com/SetupCloneDVD.exe
    AnyDVD http://static.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD.exe
These will solve your troubles. Plenty of help here at AfterDawn if needed.
Note: Be sure you "Enable" AnyDVD before inserting your source disc you want to back-up. Then launch CloneDVD 2 and select copy dvd titles. De-Select any audio languages you don't need. Usually the movie is title 1. It will be the largest size. Also, when you get to the screen, select a write speed of 4x since you are using 8x media. Select DVD Writer as the target drive.(This should already be selected by default.) If you have 2 titles (Widescreen and full screen) Deselect the one you don't want. Good Luck and Happy New Year!
