the case you chose is nice but very expensive and in my opinion a waste of money. You can get a similar Antec 1200 for $215.

Also for a high end build you should go for a better motherboard. P45 is good but not as good as X48.

you could wait for the 4870x2 or you could get 2 4870's. there is not much difference between them. But the x2 has a little better power consumption and leaves a slot open for another card later on. if you are going to wait for the x2 you might also look at the q9550. it is supposed to drop in price to what the q9450 is currently at right now.

CPU: Good, Motherboard: Good, but the X48-DS4 is better unless you're into big time overclocking
RAM is good, Case is good but overpriced, use the case that krj recommended, or this one:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146047
    This is a better PSU
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006
don't let the lower rating fool you, it's plenty powerful enough
    HDD, ODD: both good
You could wait for the 4870X2 to be released, or you could just do it the normal way:

Ok farook, that's enough. Maybe you don't mean it, but you really need to brush up on your common sense. Firstly newegg is an american site, so the numbers will be higher since they're in dollars...
Secondly, 4x1GB is not better than 2x2GB, for most cases, it's actually more expensive too.

I would've stuck with buying the x48, but I heard that there were some overheating problems?

Also when I went in some comptuer place they told me that the P45 was using ICH10, and the x48 was ICH9?

I don't really know the difference, is there one?

i have not heard of any overheating problems with x48. the only main difference between x48 and p45 is, x48 can do crossfire with 2 pci e @16x and p45 cant. that means better performance with crossfire. also p45 can support up to 16gb of ram while x48 can only do 8gb. in my opinion x48 is the best choice.

As Krj stated, the X48 is what you want for dual graphics.

Which motherboard is better for the price?

The one sammorris recommended, the x48 - DS4
or the one krj recommended, the rampage formula?

And the q9550, how sure are you that it'll be around the same price as the q9450 right now?

Also, do you think I should wait a while after the 4870x2 has been released so the price drops?

    Thanks.

i would get the gigabyte motherboard myself but the rampage is also good.

the q9550 is going to drop in price next month. the current rumor is the 10th of august. and if it doesnt drop you can always get the q9450. the only advantage the q9550 has is that it is higher stock speed and will overclock farther. so if you are not into overclocking you might as well just get the q9450. i would not wait for the 4870x2, i would just cross fire 2 4870s instead.

Would you get the x48-ds4, or the x48-dq6?

What are the main differences between the two?

The only reason I am waiting for the x2 is because I want that extra slot to add another card in the future to crossfire.

the main difference is the dq6 has more sata and an extra usb header. so if you want the extra sata and usb get the dq6 otherwise the other will be more than enough.

    Alright.
Do you think i'll need an 3rd party CPU cooler?
Or will the stock one that comes with the intel be enough?

i would definitely get one if you plan on doing any serious overclocking. but if you only overclock ti to about 3ghz you should be fine without one.

Why limit yourself? Aftermarket coolers like the Freezer 7 Pro are cheap...

btw the antec Quatro 850W PSU ur plannign on gettign is a top of the line PSU, but very overkill.

IMO unless the corsair comes with 8pin PCIE cable(s) dont get it. they are nearign 2 years old now, and IICR they havent been upgraded to having PCIE8pin, which you will need for the 4870X2.
well the TX750 has been but IICR you have to call corsair and they will send you a 6 pin to 8 pin PCIE cable

if you are getting the 4870X2, then a P45 will be enough, as scaling over 2 GPU cores is really bad. and the P45s OC much more than the X48s.

IMO wait for the Q9550 to drop price, as it will be dropping price att eh same time the 4870X2 comes out.

i can recommend a noctua NH-U12P for the cooler, or a Tuniq Tower, Or an OCZ Vendetta 2, which ever you can fidn in stock the cheapest.

    farok, you are lol.

the only difference between the SB of the X48 and P45 is the P45 has an extra 2 sata controllers, so upto 8 available.

as fro the case, Lian-Li cannot be beatan on quality, it just ooooozez amazement. esp with each one being hand crafted.

If its comign into your budget get it, i mean cases are a very personal thing, and you shouldnt feel the need to chaneg if you dont want to. never be pressured otu of a case choice, if you have your heart set on it. you can be pressured out of every toher component but not the case, as YOU are the one thats going to be looking at it everyday, and using it.

Thank you very much for the replies.

I do want the x48, but is there really that much of a difference between it and the P45 that I should spend an extra 115 dollars?

For a monitor, the 2493HM does seem like a fantastic monitor, but is it one of the best 24" monitors I could get?

    Thanks again,
    Epilogue.

The TX 750W comes with four 6+2 PCI express connectors.

As far as Lian-Li go, they are built well, but bear in mind they cost around 70% more than any other case to an identical specification. That's a lot of extra money just for the sake of having a Lian-Li.

For the monitor, the 2493HM is decent, but the best 24" monitor out there is the 2407WFP-HC from Dell.

im not too clooed up in the recent best but what sam recommended is simply marvolous, so long as you get the A04 revision.

    how the 4208 sam?

and yeah, for the lian li name, they make a case and incrace the price by about 50%, but it does oooze quality.

For a card reader, should I go with internal or external?

And the TV-tuner, is it necessary to go for an expensive one?
