can i just use any hard drive (usb) and hook it up to my ps2 or do i need to get software... also do i need a modded ps2?
Of coarse you need to get the usb advance program. You should be able to use any usb hd, and no, you don't need a modded ps2 if you BUY the program.
Although I would recomend getting Swap Magic or a modchip because you can boot USB Advance a free version of USB eXtreme and if the game doesn't work with USB Advance/USB eXtreme play it with your modchip or swap magic.
anyone know about combatibility issues with the external hd's?? can i use a form factor 2.5 inch sata in an external case, or does it have to be IDE? 'cuz i was ponderin' using an external hd and hd extreme for a few of my games, you know, the ones that WORK on hd extreme, to cut down on laser use, to extend the life of my laser. I saw an external enclosure at a computer store that was the size of an ipod! (or abouts) it was small. box said it fit 2.5' hard drives.
