I downloaded the AC3 codec so that I could watch some Xvid/AC3 videofiles that I have, but there's a problem. Even though I can hear the audio of a videofile, the input level meter on the AC3filter config screen does nothing - in fact, any changes I make to the config (EQ, levels) make no difference at all. When I run a videofile through the Videoinspector software, it says that the AC3 codec is not there - but the codec IS there. And I can hear the audio of a file that has AC3 audio, so I'm sort of stuck in the middle - it's there, but it's not. If you see what I mean! lol It causes problems when converting files to ES video/audio formats in TMPGenc - it just locks up when I try. I know this happens because of my AC3 problem, as I can convert the file to a video ES format with ease - but it won't convert the audio. This is when it locks up. As a workaround, I have to convert the file to DiVX, and extract the audio with VirtualDub - but then, I end up with an audio file that's a different length to the video file - so I get synch problems. Is there any way I can sort out this AC3 mess?
