Formatted my 2gb micro sd card... with panasonic sd formatter. Then put akaio 1.6 firmware but when i boot up it says "loading" then just stays black... i did put it ont he root of the drive. i have installed the offical firmware now and it works perfect but i really'd like to use akaio 1.6 firmware. i heard it was not compatible with the new batch of acekards..?
Try using the newest version of AKAIO 1.6 RC2 it will give you more detailed error messages if your card is detected as a clone, older versions of AKAIO just blank the screen if it detects a clone) which makes it hard to indentify if the problem is a clone card or other reasons. There is info somewhere on akaio forums about possible faulty batch of acekards, it said you could run AKAIO 1.5.1 but nothing higher, i think. They were looking into it.
you are using what PC OS? im on windows XP SP3, if you on mac or vista OR 7 it maybe formatting the Micro Sd card differently, for example vista always asks me when i put a micro sd card in do you want Vista to speed up access to the card there are a few things like this, also i have a 16gb Micro SD card formatted it through my computer right click drive format and choose default settings full format and it works fine.
