Check all volume settings. There should be a default Windows volume control and one for your audio card.

If you double click on the icon, in your tray, are the volume settings right?

Also, if you go to Control Panel, then click on the Sounds and Audio Devices, does it show the name of your sound card?

It should also show your sound card, when you click on the Audio and Voice tabs.

You sure that you have them plugged into the right jack, on your sound card?
