acer laptop cdrive saying full but not much on it

    hi hope someone can help my laptop is saying c drive is full
    but i hardley have anything on it i have delited loads
    and a day later just says full again done all your scans
    and cleans

    You sure that you deleted file in the hidden temp folder, under Documents and Settings/User Name/Local Settings?

    Also, have you run a virus scan or adware/malware scan, lately?

    hi done loads scans and cleans got avg and clean
    the only temp folder i can find is under windows on docs and set and press user i only got desktop fav shared and start menu

    What version of Windows are you running?

    If XP, open My Computer, click on Tools, then Folder Options, then View.

    Scroll down to Hidden files and folders, and click in the circle to the left of Show hidden files and folders.

    While you are there, uncheck the box to the left of Hide extensions for known file types.

    Click on Apply, then on OK.

    Then go back into the folder I mentioned in my last post.

    You may also want to dump everything in the Internet folder, at the location, too.

    hi done that but still saying full there wasent much in them
    dont now what else to do dont realy want to format it

    How big is the hard drive? Have you looked at the files on there to see if there are any large files that aren't needed?

    hi sorry late reply work all day
    its 16.9g and checked everything no where near what it should hold

    Run a virus scan. Have you actually checked to see what is on that hard drive? It is an extremely small hard drive in this day and age.
