So I have no idea whether I have bluetooth compatible laptop. Here's the story. I have the so called drivers on my recovery disk. I installed them and the software comes up, ie "my bluetooth places" and the icon in the system tray but when i go to control panel, there is no "bluetooth devices appelet" also when i type "bthprops.cpl" in the "run" nothin happens. So I read up a little and find service pack 2 doesnt like outside drivers. I find this thread http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=3163 and i get to the part in step 2 asking me to remove device and plug back in. Well the only device i have is my bluetooth razr phone from telus. I have a bluetooth button on the laptop, but no matter when i click the button, "NO DEVICE" comes on my screen I tried searching for my phone with the acer drivers and software, and still nothing. even when those are installed, my BT button comes back "no device" service pak 2 did nothing for my BT neither. I alsp just reloaded my windows xp, full reload using the disks. All updates have been installed! so i turn to you for help thanks csubi
just tried to install an acer driver from another travelmate. halfway through the install it asks me to "cannot find device. make sure device is pluged in properly and push ok to continue. push cancel to install without device" does this mean I do not have BT on my laptop. Is it only BT ready, but not physicaly on my N-book?
