acer windows xp backup disk

    hi this may be in the wrong place sorry if it is
    i had a copy of a windows xp backup disk that i made from my desktop pc which was very sluggish so i decided to use the backup disk not realising it was scratched it has now got halway through and wont budge i get a disk error i am just wondering if there is any way to get a new backup disk i obviously cant start up the pc as it has deleted the windows files as it was backing them up any help would be great thanks :)

    well you can use a program called isobuster to recover data lost on any media type:)

    also be sure to do a fresh install DONT CONTINUE WITH THE CURRENT INSTALLATION PROCESS , i put it in bold for reference......call your OEM a new XP disc may be covered under your warranty/a small price of 10-15$
