    Hey Baldbear......it's Hootie again.
I purchased a new copy of the DVD X COPY platinum from the link you sent me. It arrived, I installed it, I entered the license ID and password, and it says that "The (7) allotted activations has been used for this license." I don't understand, I just purchased it brand new, paid for it basically twice, and now I can't use it......what can I do??

Alright, seems I've got the thing working - I'm just having one more problem now. At the end of the burn sometimes (50% of the time so far) I am getting error messages......it rips properly, and everything looks fine and then whammo. It says to check a log to see the details of what happened, but I'm not sure how to access the log. It also appears that the rips/burns are taking much longer than usual, any advice?

    Thanks

I'm definitely a newbie, it says it's not as easy to use as Platinum......do you think compression was an issue? It says everytime the rate of compression that it's going to use......Can I use this in conjunction with DVD X COPY? Can I install them both on my machine at the same time? I don't want anything to happen to my computer and I'm a little leary of downloading things I haven't heard of before......why would it be free when everything else costs so much? Does it copy store bought dvd's?
    ACK!

    1. Compress, probably not.

    2. You can't use it in conjunction with X Copy, but, there is a guide for using it here:
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd9_to_dvdr_with_dvd_shrink.cfm

    3. Yes, they can be both installed at the same time.

    4. Its free due to the awesome developer, he works with Nero.

    5. Yes, it can copy store bought DVDs. If it can't decrypt a movie (Newest ones) use this:
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvdfab_decrypter.cfm

Both Shrink and DVDFab are excellent programs, they are also both FREE.
