I know this has got to be the most NooBish questions i have asked on this or any forum site in my internet history, but lol i have heard about loading Games,ISO's, Homebrew, ect... with Action replay is this true ???? And if not does anyone know an ez way to let your gamecube play backups online without soldering ect... i seen the phantasy online mod but i heard it sucks. Site links would be appriceated.
http://modthatcube.pxn-os.com/content/softmod2.htm it explains in detail how to do that soft mod, but in all honesty, just invest the money in either a qoob or viper gc chip, it's much much much much easier I have a Viper GC chip and i flashed it with the GCOS ripper plug in and now I just insert the game I want, run the plug-in, then using Internet Explorer I just download the ISO to my pc and it does it in less than an hour. Now all I need to do is find some help making ngcdevr02a into a plug-in that works
Kool i think i'll buy a qoob chip but now that you mention plug ins and stuff what you mean you have it and you use the plug in and internet explorer ??? hope its for something extra lol if the qoob chip is all ill need ill just have to save and have it installed by a pro unlike my ps2 (R.I.P.)Thanks for the reply razor. just wondering what the plug in and internet explorer does....
I flashed my viper gc chip with the file named: cobra12_ripper_dolup.vgc it's the cobra 1.2 bios with the GCOS Ripper program on it, so I only turn on my gamecube, run the GCOS ripper file, then insert the game I want to rip, then on my PC I open Internet Explorer and type in: 192.168.1.32/backup.iso and a download window pops up, I rename it to whatever I want, for example MarioKart.iso and it will stream from the Gamecube to my pc in about an hour or so then I can burn it to DVD-R using Nero and I can play it on the gamecube by the way, I go to http://modthatcube.pxn-os.com/ to get all the files, installation instructions and diagrams for all the Gamecube Mods. I like it cause it explains in detail how to do things
So The "cobra 1.2 bios with the GCOS Ripper program" Is a computer program ? is it free or do i have to order it ? im just confused about the cobra part sorry wondering if you have to pay for it and what is flashing a chip ??? lol... Thanks and sorry if im askin alot of questions
OK, when you buy a Viper GC or Qoob mod chip, they normally come non flashed, and their websites state that they will not allow the use of pirated or copied games, you can download free bios files which you can write to the mod chip (the qoob does this via USB, network, or dvd disc and the Viper does it via Parallel Port, or dvd disc) the Cobra line of BIOS's is one "company's" file, you could also use other BIOS's such as 'GCOS', 'ninjamod', 'Ripper GC' etc.
Oh Ok kool the last reply cleared it up for me i think ill pick up 1 of those. thanks alot for your patience with me lol ps2 modding is easier but mine broke so i think ill have a pro mod my gamecube.
well there is more than 1 way to stream a game to your computer, but I've noticed a higher rate of successful transfers and backups doing it this way, PM me and i'll give you a list of all the programs you'll want to download
