Activate ISO Disc

FWIW, here is what has worked for me to burn with growisofs..

confirmed on BENQ and LiteON (not that this matters)

nice activate disc worked for me, so is wave 4 what all the new games are going to be now?

 

Yep. The new dashboard update is contained in it, and all new games will be required by MS to have it. When the next dashboard update comes around, there will be a wave 5.

I followed your instructions to a T, and everything worked perfectly on my Lite-On with v1.6.

 

hope someone can help? i have hitachi 1.66FW, i burn the activate iso with imgburn on the first layer, then i insert and it DOES NOT say play disc it say open tray, so i assurmed that it might be the download file!! so i downloading another and the same again, please help!!!!
wasted 2 disc now............

 

Hitachi 1.66 firmware?

Activate.iso only works with iXtreme 1.6 and 1.61. If you've got a Hitachi drive, install iXtreme 1.51 and you won't have to use activate.iso at all.

 

I am still on ixtreme 1.2. Do I need to upgrade in order to play these wave 4 games? Ugh I don't even want to think of going through the flash process again... If I do upgrade, which version should I get?

 

Recently downloaded Tekken 6 - burned it and tried it on my xbox 360 and it wouldn't work.

I sourched "Activate.iso" from a torrent site.

Burned it as i would normally burn a disc via "imgburn"

The program said it would fit on a normal disc not a DL - i said continue anyway.

Then said would i like to continue without copying on both layers i said yes.

It burned fine - loaded it into the xbox - run fine - put Tekken 6 in and it told me i would have to update my xbox to run the game!

PANIC STATIONS... No...

I pressed yes as i dont have an internet conncetion in the xbox - it updated and rebooted the xbox - the Tekken 6 worked without using the Activate.iso !

Playing it now! Fantastic game!

Hello, new to all this... hope someone can answer a question or two.
I've followed the instructions on burning the activate.iso. Done this twice thinking the first disc might have been a bad burn but I've gotten the same result with the second burn. When I put it in the xbox it says "To play this disc, put it in a xbox 360 console".

If I had done it correctly it should give me a "Play DVD" option correct? I followed it to the T with the exception of disc type. Instead of Verb. I used Sony DVD+R DL. Could this make the difference??

Have you got your xbox set to run the disc automatically?

 

I did. Just went and changed it to disable autostart and seen that it does say say "Play DVD". Thanks... Pretty sure I've done that disc correctly then.

Like I said, I'm new to ALL of this. I have a backup copy of Lego Rock Band that I couldn't get to play and thought I would give this a whirl. Pretty sure now that it was not the "fix" I was looking for. Thinking maybe it was just a bad burn at this point...

When I put the game in it shows it there and gives the option to "Play Game" but when I try it sounds like it's loading then goes to a screen that says
"The disc is unreadable.
1. Clean the disc with a soft cloth
2. Restart the console"

Opinions? Bad burn or other?

bad burn or bad media would be my guess.

 

thats what it says for me, that white screen comes up, at that point i eject the disc and pop in a game. works for me.

 

Okay, I'm having a time here. I followed the instructions on this thread. Don't know for sure what fw I have on my liteone but got it flashed in october. Put the activate.iso in, pressed play dvd when it said, and I also did it without pressing a, both times put the wave 4 game in, 2 different games, and it game up with the white screen with the 360 logo on it, and it just stayed that way for over 5 minutes. Also Tried it on my hitachi, flashed in april and same thing. anybody know whats up?

 

hi mate. Try following

1) turn xbox on no disc inserted
2) insert activate.iso, press a to play dvd
3) let it load up untill it looks like its frozen
- note: i think it says something but its late and cnt think
4) press eject button on xbox
- note: at this point, xbox should return to dashboard
5) insert wave 4 game into xbox WITHOUT TURNING IT OFF
6) wait till game logo appears, press a to play

now thats off the top of my head of how i do it with mine

im assuming if people having problem actually loading the activate.iso then u need a good copy of it.

However if it loads as mentioned above in the 6 steps, then maybe ur wave 4 game is a bad copy?

Not sure if i can be of any help any more but ill certainly try!
