I got a virus from active x object and cant get rid of it here is my situation: 1:Task manager blocked by virus 2:i used multiple virus and spyware programs to no avail 3:Cannot find the files to manually remove 4:Cannot use system restore all restore points are messed up If there is any trick to removing Active x Object Please tell me
Sounds like a nasty infection. Download HijackThis. http://filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/ Reboot into safe mode. Run HijackThis. Do a system scan and save a logfile. Post log here. This may take a few steps to remove the infections. To disable or remove ADD-ONS: Follow this path: Start>Run>Internet Properties>Programs Tab>Manage Add-Ons. However, I wouldn't recommend doing this. Should deal with removing the infections first. Are you able to enter MSCONFIG? Start>Run>type, MSCONFIG. Are you able to enter RegEdit? Start>Run>type RegEdit.

Log is clean! However, you do have a few unnecessary processes running. Follow up with a registry cleaner. Clean out your browser. Run Disc cleanup, and Disc Defragmenter. Run a complete AV/anti-spyware scan. Configure startups in MSCONFIG. Any questions?
