Deleted my own thread. Forgot that you're not supposed to ask questions here, but rather just give feedback & suggestions. Sorry about that.

Actually... I guess I can post it, if I make a suggestion afterwards. Here goes: "Okay, so I'm just wondering why AD comes in both English and Suomeksi (which I think is Finnish, but don't know for sure). Are there lots of DVD/CD related advances that come out of Finland? I feel like I'm missing something here. I'm just really curious. Are all the mods Finnish? ;-)"

My suggestion would be: make AD available in other languages too(i.e. Spanish)... After all AD totally ROCKS, and people of non-English speaking nations probably have DVD questions too.

Or maybe I'll just start learning Finnish.

dRD and the Admins are all finnish

Also, i think they did try a few other languages, but nobody really used them after a trial, so they got shot lol

Maybe we should wait till dRD comes to explain a little more

As said by CJC, the reason behind the decision to have the site available both in Finnish and in English is due the simple fact that all of our seven admins, including myself, are Finns :)

The idea to launch sites for other languages as well has been in plans for years, but it has been put back to the "to-do later" folder due several reasons. First and most notable one was the failure of international forums to attract people -- we launched, I think 2 years ago now, a German and Spanish forum and the idea was basically to see whether they'd gather enough interest to later expand the content to news, etc for those languages. But German forum didn't get even a single post during the first year or so. And the Spanish forum still exists, but its post stats are rather miserable compared to any other forum. Compare the 100 or so messages there to our Finnish forums that have more than 200,000 posts so far :)

But as always, we're interested to work with people who contact us and are willing to find a way to launch "spa.AfterDawn.com", "de.afterdawn.com" or anything similar. It just needs tons of work to maintain full site -- daily news updates, translations to software descriptions, guides, etc.
