Let me just get this out of the way: I don't know that much about computers "insides" so it may be just a simple problem.

I just put in a second ide ata hard drive. my primary hard drive is sata. I just bought it off a friend who never put it in his computer so its brand new.

I didn't put any jumper on it so it says it will be a slave drive.
I haven't touched my primary drive so I don't know if I need to do anything to that.
Turned on my pc and on my desktop, Vista said it installed the drivers for my samsung hard drive ok. Its listed in my device manager and says its working properly.

But my Problem is I dont see it in My Computer. All I see is my primary hard drive, dvd drive, and removable drives.
How do I make it so I can see my drive?

edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP. yours is
    4 lines of text & 400x150 pixels.
    4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.
go into control panel\administraative tools\computer management. select disk management on left side of screen & you'll see all the drives including the new 1. it has to be partitioned & formated before it can be used by windows.

run diskmgmt.msc and format the drive. brand new drives have to be formatted before using.
