adding a Gmail account email account

Need help with adding a Gmail account email. I do not have a cell phone, therefore I cannot receive text messages. Is there another way to accomplish this?

go to gmail.com and click on set up an account.there should be another recovery option other than a text.usually its another email account.

 

It does not.
my landline is used too often it says.

what about another email account?

 

In order for me to add another gmail address I need as they say to prove it is my account. To do so they want to send me a code through a mobile phone which I do not have to receive a text.
