Hello all, First post here. I would like to know I want to put a hard drive in a friend's PS2. It is an older, larger size PS2. I have hard drives ranging from 4 gigs to all the way to 120 gigs. When I open the expansion port of the PS2 and slide the drive into it what cable do I need to plug it into the PS2 itself. And after I hook it in does it format the drive itself or do I have to do it myself??? Thanks Ed
you have to have a network adaptor, and NO the ps2 will not recognize it. What are you trying to do with the hd.
Is there somewhere I can read on how to do this. I am a novice to putting the drive into a ps2 and dont want to screw it up. Ed
search the forum on hd advance (you can't screw anyting up, its really easy). or, http://www.hdadvance.com
thanks for the info sly....i have been told it is much easier to mod a ps2 than an xbox. Is that true?? Ed
yes, since you have to ftp from the xbox to your computer. Your computer can read ps2 games. As for installing a modchip, its about the same.
