Adding a hdd with xboxhdm

As the title suggest I have a soft modded xbox(krayzie)and have constructed a disc with xboxhdm,the problem I've run into is I don't have a pc tower to set up my new hdd.Is there a way to do this with a lap top?I've also heard of a programm that allows you to create a "boot"disc in which you install the new hdd into your xbox and install the "boot"disc to set it up.Any ideas?

 

"xboxhdm" cannot be used with a laptop. You have to plug it in to a tower and the disc that will be modded must be on the primary IDE(master) cable.

No problem. I don't know what your method of getting a tower will be but tiger direct usually has barebone systems pretty cheap.
