I just soft modded my xbox, and have unleashX running on it. I want to add some emulators, and xbmc. I have all the files I need, I just don't know how to get them to where I need them. Can I use my homemade usb thumbdriveto xbox connector cable to transfer them? If so, how? Can someone point me to a tutorial or walk me through this, I'm a serious noob to the xbox mod scene. I don't have the hardware to ftp, and I don't have the cash for blank media of any kind. Anyone have any suggestions?

You could do that, but I find it better to transfer files via FTP to your Xbox.

Just connect your Xbox to your router, or to your PC via a crossover cable, and with an FTP program (for me, the best one is FlashFXP) you can transfer them easily. And you can also make a complete backup of your system.

tried doing that today with both a crossover cable (home made, mightbe messed up) and with a router, couldn;t get the xbox to make itself an ip and gateway and such with DCHP (spelling?) even tried a static address. Tried several ftp programs as well. Have never had any luck with ftp, I also have a moded ps2 which I never could ftp to. Might be the distance between me and my router (300 feet, wired router). I really don't know. Tried burning the files to discs, cdrs and dvdrs and the xbox locks up every time I put them in, and try file browing with the unleash x dash. I got one of my discs here at the house to work, one with pictures on it. It reads fine. Which is odd cause it's burned the same as the others and is the same brand and -r. Kinda odd. Anyone with any ideas. I really need help here. I'm dying to have xbmc on my box.

okay played around some more, tried adding the xbmc folder to some non-finalized dvd-r discs I had laying around. They would load on the unleashX file browser, but here's the kicker, it would read the files that were on the disc from before, but would not read the xbmc folder, it acted like it wasn;t even there, but the avi files showed up fine. Can anyone help me please?
