    Hi,
    Any help appreciated.

I have a dvd a friend made for me, it has a simple menu with just a 'play' button and just one movie. I have recently turned up some unused material and would like to add it to the end of the movie.

I have used TMPGEnc to create the new mpeg2 file (the dvd movie plus my new material) but now I want to place it into a dvd with the original menu with additional chapter points for the extra material.

So I know I need a VOB set for the new movie and the original IFOs for the menu. But I'm guessing I'll need to do some IFO editing to allow for the longer movie? Can all this be done with ifoEdit / vobEdit / pgcEdit and how? Any other software suggestions?

    Thanks.

If you just want it to play at after the initial movie, then all you need is something like Muxman and PGCEdit. IFOEdit and PGCEdit will work as well.

The first step is to author a DVD from the onus material. If it is already in a VOB container with an IFO file, then you can skip this step.

After you have an IFO and VOB for the bonus material, you will want to open PGCEdit and create a NEW DVD.

Import the Title set of the main movie that your friend gave you.

Next, import the menu (both VIDEO_TS menu and VTS_01_0 Menu). Import the VIDEO_TS Menu into the VMG menu. The VTS_01_0 Menu will be in the VTS 1 Menu.

Next, import the bonus material into the DVD. This will be in VTS_02 and it will be title 2 unless you have more titles on the original DVD.

Now, go to the VMG Menu and create a new Dummy PGC. Right click on one of the PGCs and select "New Dummy PGC".

Select that PGC and then go to the DVD command Area to the right of the PGCEdit window. Click on "Pre-commands" and then hit "ctlr shift >" It is three keys on your keyboard. Alternately you can right click and select "add after".

This will create a new DVD command that reads "NOP"

Double click on that command. On the new window select "Alphabetically=>JumpTT".

Set the Jump value to Title 2.

Now, go to Title 1 (the original movie) and select the Post commands. Look through them and find a command that either links to the VTSM menu or to the VMGM menu. It should be the final command of the post commands. Now, double click this command and edit it to CALL the Dummy Menu you created in the VMG.

Now, got to Title 2. Select the Post commands and press "ctrl shift >". This will create a blank Post command that reads NOP. Select it and double click. Edit the command to Call First Play PGC.

Finally, create a new Menu for VTS_02. A blank menu is fine. You don't have to edit that command as it already points to First Play PGC.

Use trace mode "Ctrl+t" to test playback. You have to use the step, run, and select & break buttons to navigate the DVD. If everything works Save the DVD and you are finished.

What this will do is make Title 2, the bonus material play after the movie plays. Also, you can access Title 2 using your DVD remote once playback of the DVD starts. This is the simplest way to do it. It would probably take 5 minutes to do once you get a hand of PGCEdit.
