I got a new hifi for christmas which replaced my old maxi system. I already have a sub and two speakers connected to my PC using 3.5mm cable. The speakers from my old hifi have two pieces of wire (don't know how to describe this better) for each speaker. Would I be able to use the old speakers, and maybe the hifi if necessary with my PC. I know I could use a 3.5 too phono cable to use the speakers just with the PC, but I want to be able to use all of the speakers if I can.

you'll need a sound card that supports 5.1 or better (if going to PC)

    no way around it, sorry.

So how woud this work? The centre from the soundcard could go to the hifi, then on to the 2 speakers, but what about the other 2 speakers with the sub. Normally they plug into the subwoofer which plugs into the speaker port on my soundcard.
