Adding menus and chapters

    Hey everyone, i'm currently converting a bunch of my VHS movies to DVD, which is a little bit of a pain. I turned off auto chapter on my DVD recorder, because I wanted to put the chapters in myself, but i've been having to take the burned DVD, convert it to mpeg4 on my computer, and re-burn it onto another DVD.

    If I use DVD-RW's, is there a way to add chapters and menus to the DVD's without re burning them?

    Nope. You're going to have to re-author the DVD and burn it again. Sorry.

    Hi.

    I guess I don't understand why you have to convert the burned DVD to mpeg4 to insert chapter markers? Yes you'll have to reauthor to place hard chapter markers, but it doesn't have to be converted to mpeg4 to do so. Use NeroVision Express or TMPGEnc Author, import the DVD titles, insert the chapter markers, re-encode and burn. TMPGEnc will be considerably faster than NeroVision. Version 1.6 has a fully functional free trial.
