    Hi

I'm a noob at this having converted only about 6 or 7 movies from 700 mb sized AVI format to DVD using WinAVI then burn them using Nero express 6. When burning a single converted AVI I just add the converted folder (called 'dvd0' which i usually rename) and all works well

For every AVI that WinAVI converts it creates the 'dvd0' folder and subfolders Audio_ts and Video_ts. The Audio-ts folders are always empty and the Video_ts contain these files

However some of the AVI's I dl'd were multiple 700mb files and I am having problems burning them to a single DVD. Nero express 6 won't let me add another converted 'dvd' folder to my compilation. But I'm presuming I can overcome this by renaming all or some of the files in the above folder (see image link) before adding them to the Video_ts folder to be burnt?

can anyone tell me which of these files I require copied to my DVD compilation from each converted AVI folder and the easiest file renaming convention to use?

    Thanks

    Hi Garald111
For the multiple avi files - next time you convert them & they are all the same movie - use Vision and use the merge option.

For the ones you want to add now - use Recode - Remake a a DVD option.
When you click on 'import title' find the video_ts folder then add the file listed under 'Main Movie'. Do this for each one you want to add.
Recode will compress them if necessary to fit on the disc.

You can try to update to 6.6.0.18 but your serial may not 'unlock' Vision or Recode w/ the oem - the rest of the update should be okay. Here's some links:
    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2 (recode & vision)
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Torrent - well just about everything else is :)

I don't use WinAVI so I'm not familiar with the batch option. But avi's are like containers and once they are converted to dvd compliant files they do get bigger.
The files you showed in the pic are the normal files in a video_ts folder that are needed to play the dvd. That's the folder that you need to burn.

    edit: fix links

    hi garald111
i have very similar problems to you. I am wanting to convert 6 small episodes onto 12 dvds.
After reading your post i found the batch convert option in WINAvi ( which i also use) however after converting the first episode it asks if i want the second one to overwrite the first one, i went no and it has started to convert it seperately.
    Any hints to help me.

    Hi smack23

I found this info in the mpeg forum here.

What you need to do is make sure the episodes in avi format are all located in a single folder. Then when you select them within the WinAVI convert to DVD option (NOT batch convert) you hold down the Ctrl key and choose the episodes in the required order so that they ALL appear within "quotes" in the file open box and you are adding all episodes in a single go!
I think you will have to kinda judge it so that you don't overload the disc as i doubt it will compress to fit. But it will create the files you need to seamlessly join the episodes (well I didn't notice any joins) Worked a treat!

    regards
