I backed some of my DVD games into ISO files lately and they worked fine. But then I wanted to add some files (game mods) I downloaded from the net into my original ISO backups. So I did it with PowerISO and saved my ISO only to find out that all the file names in my ISO ha been changed into standard 11 character ISO 9660 file names. For an example "ReadMe_English.htm" file in my ISO is now "README_E.HTM" So, now the ISO file is completely useless because the game installer can't understand these new Dos-Like filenames. I checked whether there are any settings to change this in PowerISO but there was'nt.

I tried MagicISO but it was useless as well...

So, please tell me a tool I can use to add files into an existing ISO without changing the filenames?

    Thanx.

Hey i have done the same thing with my PC games as you have. I used/own UltraISO and love it. But in general theres 2 options. 1. Use UltraISO ( you have to buy it)I know this works an doesn't change the filenames like PowerISO did OR 2. Get ISOBuster its free at
isobuster.com. The company lets you have it for free with some features disabled ( not sure which features though, sorry ) or you can pay a certain amount and get the "full" version with all features. So there you go I have worked with both ISOBuster and UltraISO. I'd say if money was no issue go with UltraISO ( i believe its $25-$30) or the free alternative is ISOBuster although its feature set will be limited.

Oh god, I already have ISOBuster free version installed. I thought of it as a tool to recover files from scratched DVDs but not as a tool to edit ISOs. What a fool am I, ISOBuster the name says it all! (lol)

Thank you PeaInAPod for derecting me to the right direction.

n by the way, Why is the point of paying $30 for PowerISO, if we can't use it to edit an ISO properly? After all, PowerISO specialized in editing ISO files...

    Correct me if I'm wrong...

Uhh.. this is my best answer(lol?). Before i myself bought a disc image ( ex. ISO, MDF, Bin, etc.) I read around here at afterdawn looked online and read hundreds of threads. Most people/threads involving PowerISO werent giving it praise they were questions like "Why won't this work....." you know tech questions. So i came to a decision between ISOBuster and UltraISO. And like I said before if money IS an issue get ISOBuster if money is NOT a issue I'd get/prefer UltraISO. So there you go if you ever have a question just give send me a pm ( private message).
