Hello I have limited Optical Inputs on my AV Receiver and as usual a number of pieces of equipment that I would like to use their respective Optical options - XBox 360/PS3 etc. I wondered if I were to purchase the following: http://www.joytech.net/1/products/av/9/78/AV-Control-Center.htm That I could use this unit simply as a switch for my Optical equipment and hook it up to my AV Receiver (e.g hook my PS3 and then my XBox 360 into the Joytech unit via Optical In and then via Optical Out on the Joytech plug that into my AV Receiver via Optical In. Any guidance as to whther this unti is up to the job would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Frazer
It should work, but I'd save my money and get a new receiver, that has HDMI inputs, and can handle the HD audio from blu ray movies played on the PS3. But that's just me...............
Thanks JVC In all honesty the Receiver is new. It doesn't give me the Optical options I need. My fault I guess for being to quick to buy. If you think this option should work (and I agree it should) then I will go with that. Regards Frazer
If that receiver is new, return it and get what you need............ Don't just accept something you really don't want. This is an excellent receiver that will do what you need, and more.... http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-SR60...1?ie=UTF8&s=audio-video&qid=1221538491&sr=1-1
i agree with jvc think ahead is my motto and i bought the next one up with 4 hdmi in ports and optical .
Thanks to all. I like the AV Receiver that I bought (Yamaha RXV463) as it does offer many options. I guess I shouldn't have so many things to hook into it. Regards Frazer
