Hi there, Does anyone know of any software that will allow you to change the default display aspect ratio of a video file without having to re-encode the content? Are there some video file formats that more easily allow this to occur? Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer.
Mpeg4Modifier can reflag an AVI file. It would be used where the aspect ratio is obviously wrong to change it to the correct AR. Drag the file onto the pane and select the correct Display AR. As long as the PC media player respects the flag (VLC does) or the standalone player, then it should work. I think, perhaps, DVDPatcher can do the same for MPEG files.
Many thanks indeed, attar. These type of utilities are exactly what I was after. I have since also discovered ReStream which works with MPEG2 files too. Does anyone know of any similar utilities that allow the display aspect ratio of other video file formats to be adjusted (without re-encoding) as well? eg. WMV, ASF, MOV, MKV etc.
