I finally got Premiere working thanks to another thread on this site (I needed to update the audio driver).

Because I could not use Premiere at first, I captured my DV footage using Windows Movie Maker. I have created 5 AVI files that are 55-60 minutes long.

I know the files are fine because they play all the way through in Movie Maker, Media Player, and Arcsoft Showbiz.

I can import them into Premiere without getting an error.

When I play the imported clip, however, it plays fine until I get to about 5 minutes. After that, it is just a freeze and noisy audio for the rest of the clip length. (ie the first 5 minutes are fine but the next 55 are just the freeze).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

how's your computer? it may need an upgrade, cause what it does is use a buffer for the movie, so you are loading a whole 60 minute movie into your memory and that could be the reason of why it freezes, that could be a starting point.
