Is it possible to get an audio clip, and "split" the clip, so i have the singing of the audio, seperated from the background music? thanks
typically the short answer is no. if you have a stereo track with all the elements (vocals, SFX, and various instruments) it is very difficult to isolate certain sounds since they are all mixed together. if you can find a multi-track mix of your source clip that would be helpful, but not possible if you're editing from camera audio. having said that, there are certain applications out there (not free, and can't remember the names of them) that claim to be able to remove vocals and isolate other frequencies, but it is going to seriously deteriorate the quality. If I were you I'd just open the audio clip in premiere and play with the equalizer under audio effects. cut out the low and high frequencies, and boost certain mid range freqs until you can isolate which one is the vocal audio.
