I have the .mds image mounted but it asks for the CD still when I run it. There was an update saying new mds file that works which I downloaded it was like 50k in size I have no clue what to do with this file because daemon tools doesn't open it. If anyone has experience in mounting can you please help me out I did some searching on google but there isn't a simple answer for a non working mds file or patch mds file. Thanks

.mds is associated with Alcohol 120%

Give more detail as in what is the .mds file of and what is this new update your trying to do.

    Ok here goes o.0

I have the image of advent rising for PC but it won't play because of no cd error, the file image extension is .mds.mdf

Now I downloaded a 39.5kb .mds file which is supposed to fix the no cd error if you mount it, however I can't open the fixed mds file with daemon or Alcohol.

What I did was mount the real image and installed the game from daemon mounted drive when I try running the game from the mounted drive it asked for the cd. I don't know what to do from there. it's something I have to do with the fixed mds file.

Umm, yes it was originally associated/made? with Alcohol but many program's can now 'deal' with it. Namely Daemon Tools.

I know he pointed out what the problem was (mismatched filenames), but still your message sorta sounded like this was strictly an Alcohol filetype and has to be used with Alcohol. Just thought I would point out to new ppl that you can use MDS/MDF files with many different programs.

I wasn't misleading as I was giving the file type name of program that it was associated with. As I stated "Give more detail as in what is the .mds file of and what is this new update your trying to do."

Well I already knew MDS file works with both and many more programs.
