Has anyone had trouble backing up Advent Rising? I just bought it and it downloads to the hdd fine but the backup disc gives me a dirty disc error. I have ripped and patched it with craxtion on media that my xbox definitely reads. Any thoughts, or is there some new protection kinda like what I heard about GTA III?
If it plays fine off your HDD then it's probably the disc you're using. Try Ritek DVD-R and burn at 1X or 2X if possible.
i AM USING THE SAME MEDIA THAT i HAVE USED TO BACKUP ALL OF MY GAMES, Memorexdvd+rw. I re-burnt halo2 on the same disc as advent rising and it read fine. Advent rising shows the glyphx screen then it reads dirty disc. I even had it get to the advent rising screen once. I don't know because I copied it to the hdd fine. I may swap drives with my other xbox and see if it helps.
Oh yeah, I have a version 1.2/1.3 with X3ce and Samsung drive and it absolutely refuses to read dvd-r no disc error just flat out not read and returns to dash.
