Hello all. Since you guys have helped me out I'd like to offer my 2 cents worth. My father used to tell me, when I wanted to tinker with my car's engine, "If it isn't broke, dont't fix it!" the same advice goes for Nero. If your current program does what you want, when you want, there should be no need to "update". I updated to V 6.6.1.13 and it was a big mistake. DVD Shrink wouldn't autoburn. I uninstalled everything, used the Nero Clean Tool and re-installed V 6.6.0.13. I then upgraded to Nero Vision Express 3. Everything is back to normal. Everyone Have a Happy!
I agree with that. One can always take a look at the changelog when a new version comes out. See if anything is relevent.
@bigredbus It's been common knowledge that the latest upgrade of Nero 6.6 is buggy for at least a couple of months the last version that works well is 6.6.0.18. The bad version is 6.6.1.4 http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe
Well, now that I have solved that problem with all your help, I have to move to my other problem. The McAfee red icon turns black on startup and I have to re-enable my McAfee firewall Plus by right clicking on the icon, clicking firewall and enable. Cant figure out why. Thanks again.
The link supplied by garmoon is the bug free version and you can confidently upgrade without any fears.
I liked how powerful McAfee Virus was but on some computers, like mine, it is a giant headache. My boot-ups were taking almost 3 minutes. I watched that Icon turn red then black then back to red again. In the mean time all the other programs that were supposed to start failed to do so. Even after it was running, it wanted to scan every single folder I opened. I could click on a folder and then wait and wait. I removed viruscan completely and now run AVG free edition. No more start-up problems and my computer is once again as fast as it should be. I still use McAfee's firewall. My 2.53 Ghz Sony Vaio is unaffected by Viruscan, it runs just fine.
I also just went back to this version (right now) and will be trying to re-capture my video with Nero (and not Windows Movie Maker). Does anyone know how, after it's been captured, to edit it? IE, add titles, menus, chapters...etc.? Also, does Nero convert from captured video to dvd format then, for burning? I can't seem to use the whole 'total Nero package'. Currently, I've been capturing and editiing with Windows Movie maker, converting with WinAVI (which seems to suck), and then burning with Nero. Any help is appreicated!!
