    Hey guys,

Recently, my Dvd rewriter, a PHILIPS DVDR1648P1 has finally died on me I think. I use it to backup 360 games with imgcreator and my last two games, it failed to finalise the disc but when I tested them out on my modded xbox, it works. Anyone know if the discs will have problems? They seem fine at the moment.

Anyone has a suggestion on what Dvd rewriter I should get? I believe the Philips one is quite old so I'm thinking of getting something more up to date, but I don't know what is good, I don't want to end up buying a Dvd Writer that can't back up 360 games!

    Thanks for any help!

If you want one that can backup xbox 360 games i think you need to get the Samsung SH-D163A flashed with kreon i think. Then for the burner i would go for the Pioneer 111D.

I have trouble finding a Pioneer 111D in the UK, is the Pioneer 112D a suitable alternative?

Pretty much any DL burner will do just fine. There are 5 DL burners in this household: an old LG, two older lite-on's, and two that I have no idea what they are at the moment, and they have all burn backups with no problems.

But yes, I'm sure the 112d will do just fine. ;)

I am a big fan of the BenQ burners mydelf. They work really well for pretty much anything i have done. If you do get one do some reseach and make sure it can use the Q-Suite 2.0 software. It has some good features including an automatic booktyping feature you can set once and never have to fool with again.

My 112d has been fantastic, highly recommend it. There's quite a few websites that rate it as one of the best out there.

Ah right cool, I'll go check it out myself then!

I weren't too sure if you needed a certain type of Dvd burners like the samsung to read original discs.

    Thanks again everyone
