    Hello everyone,

I have a dvd concert movie of santana that was brought to me from Peru It is on a cd-r disk. I am wondering if it is a compressed DIV-X movie onto a cd-r. What i want to do is convert that movie thats on the cd-r to a regular dvd. has anyone here every done that type of work before. I would also like to know what programs to use if possible please. Any help or input on this subject would be greatly appreaciated.

    Not really help, more input.

Im guessing that its a VCD of some sort, but i don't knwo im no genius at this stuff. Have you tried to jsut open the file as a drive on your ocmputer, see what file it is?

Try ripping as normal from dvd shrink, and see what happens form there.

Or, alternatively, you could try using AVone Video converter, selecting the dvd option, and when browsing for the file jsut go onto the disk and select the file and jsut convert it straight away onto your comp. THis my not work but its a free program to see if it works. However, i thin it leaves watermarks on the final file, didnt for me though when i converted to 3gp for my nokia.....Up to you

    Hi Billy,

I did see five folders CDI EXT MPEGAV SEGMENT and VCD. in the CDI folder was CDI_IMAG CDI_TEXT CDI_VCD.APP and CDI_VCD.CFD. for segment that folder was empty. the EXIT folder lot_x.vcd psd_x.vcd scandata. MPE Folder avseq01. vcd folder entries.vcd info.vcd lot.vcd psd.vcd. this is what i have found in each folder if it makes any sense to you. any input would be appreaciated thank you again.

There are a number of programs that should do the conversion. The new Nero 7 has Nero Vision 4. VSO has ConvertXtoDVD, but the trial app has the output marked. DVD Santa does a lot of conversion. There's WinAVI and others, I'm not as familiar with those. If you check the forums, you'll find some of the conversion discussions taking place in the Digital Video Discussion section.

    Hello brobear!

As i said im not genius at this, its not exactly my area of expertise.
As i said, what would happen if you just tried to rip the video with dvd shrink?

Maybe this wouldnt work as its not actually a dvd.

Maxburn would be great at this...hes nero mad.

Shrink is for DVD MPEG. It doesn't handle DVD conversions from CD formats. For use with Shrink and a number of transcoding programs, the files have to be DVD compliant. VIDEO_TS with IFO, BUP, and VOB files. Even with ISO, those files are inside.
