I get it... You use DVD Decrypter to "Rip" a DVD from its original disc onto your hard drive. This removes all protection and creates these vob thingys' RIGHT? Now I want to be able to remove some of the menu stuff and leave some there. Depending on the amount of content remaining. What is the best software for to edit teh content and provide me with the sizing information? After the contenet has been edited can I use my NERO 6 to put it onto dvd-r???? I thank you in advance for your help.
There are many great guides covering every aspect of video burning on this site, start there. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/
I should be more specific or just tell the GURU's out here what I am trying to accomplish. I would like to backup my dvd collection and only save the english high quality audio and the chapter selection menu item. Thats it thats all. I want to keep the video output to its original quality if possible. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]I fought the law and the law... still hasn't found me![/small]
Again, you would be able to do exactly what you specified by reading the guides in the URL the last guy posted. Happy burning.
Call me a SOFA KING... but teh only thing I can find in the guides is ifoEDIT and that is so not newbian. Very complicated... IS there not an easy way to select what you want and burn it? PLEASE help I am slowly becoming the master of 2 dvd's because I refuse to compress my video!
Hi Swotz 1. You have DVD Decrypter 2. Do you have Photoshop? Go to the below site and it will carry you thru the guide and then carry you to the guide so you can use Photoshop http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/120013.php
I still could use a recommendation for removing the extras and keeping the chapter selection component of the menus only. Thanks
After further reflection you could use: 1.NeoDVD 2.IFOEdit 3.DVDLab 4.Adobe Premiere along w/ After Effects (I use this ) 5.Not sure if Nerovision will do it never tried it Go and look at these and see which one you think you could use. Good Luck
It sounds like you want to customize the original DVD menus, and I can only assume your talking about commercial/Hollywood type movies. If so, I think your wanting to run a marathon before learning to walk. . .but I'm no expert. My experience with menu creation is that it's frustrating, and I'm talking about simple menus with cheap authoring software. Maybe the cheap software has contributed to my problems (i.e., Sonic DVDit, Pinnacle Impression, NeoDVD). I wouldn't even try to customize a commercial menu until I was well accomplished and experienced in this arena. However, I think the above reference to photoshop was intended to get you going in the right direction. If I misunderstood your question, and all your trying to do is eliminate menu content from your DVD, then I’d direct you to the guides for DVD shrink. http://www.dvdshrink.info/guides.php As far as your stubbornness on quality . . .I consider myself pretty picky and was amazed when I put the two-disc movie of Pearl Harbor on one DVD using shrink. I cut out everything but the movie, including cutting out the end credits. The compression was at 50% and the movie looked great on my big screen.
Swotz, You said you want to keep "the chapter selection component of the menus." After responding above, I re-read your postings. You must mean the chapter points in the movie, not a menu selection. When you use shrink, the chapter points remain intact.
For the bulk of the DVD's these days, to maintain original video quality you will need to put each movie on 2 blanks. The easiest way to do this is with DVDXCopy. http://www.dvdxcopy.com/
DVD Decrypter How do I use it? I no idel as to what it is for and burn off it. yes I have it and Nero StartSmart some of my DVDs are 7.86 GB
Heres a neat tool that compresses the heck out of stuff you don't want, leaving the menu intact and working. http://shh.dvdboard.de/titlesetblanker.html I have not tried it but unless you want to get lost in IfoEdit, This looks like a good compromise. I guess I should practice what I preach so after this post I'll give it a go and see if its worth the price (free). Frank
Thet me I dont practice what I preach and my kids knows it I will tire it and see what it will do Im working on Seasons Two Disc Four of Family Guy I may just have to use the DVD X Maker and cut it down to the 4.7GB
