I ripped one of my dvd's using Smartripper and now i need to know how i can convert the vob files that Windows Movie Maker will read them. I want to make some amv's and WMM is the only program i have to create them.
Don't think it will recognise raw VOB's. You'll have to convert them to MPEG with this tool first:http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/tmpgenc.cfm
Are you sure about that? I have TMPGenc and it doesn't look like it will extract MPEG2 from VOB. Most of the tools seem to be geared the other way MPEG --> DVD (VOB + IFO). Or, tools are geared to crack & duplicate DVDs. I don't see much oriented toward dissecting DVDs into the component video streams for editing purposes...
you need to get dvdx 2.2 this converts the vobs but you need the ifo ripped aswell dvdx converts to avi or mpeg1, svcd mpeg2 reply if i helped or if you still need help
Well you may be right about that, but there is this tool which will convert VOB's to MPEG 1. This will be read my moviemaker but the quality will only be VCD (MPEG 1) - Still better than nothing; http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/hero_video_convert.cfm
