    The subject says it all..
Everytime someone makes a post in the forums i get like 8 to 15 emails..

Is there a way to stop this?
Better yet.. How can you delete your account..

afterdawn is not a bunch of spammers..
its your fault that you get the emails saying that someone posted,
you left the box that says check this box if you want to get email notifications checked.
and if you read the email, it asks you if you want to unsibscribe and gives you the url to do so...
so before you say Ad is a buncha spammers how about you look at the boxes above reply and uncheck the top one...

Only emails we ever send are:

    1) weekly newsletter, which you must subscribe to in order to receive it (and yes, you need to activate your account via emailed link before you will ever receive it so "I got it without my consent" is impossible)

    2) forum notifications for threads you've ordered to receive notifications for -- max number of notifications you can ever receive is one per subscirbed thread per 24h period unless you visit the thread in question meanwhile. And you can unsubscribe (and prevent by unticking the box when posting) from receiving these as stated above.

    3) Annual reminder about your account details. Again, only for accounts that have been created to our system and validated via emailed link, so no "accidental emails" are possible.

    If that's spamming, I'm speechless.

Change your specified e-mail address to something ficticious, and after a certain amount of rejected e-mails from AfterDawn, your account will be deactivated automatically. You can change it by clicking the 'My Account' tab, and clicking 'Edit personal information'.

GoodBye I guess, but I do urge you to stay and enjoy the feast of info available here..

    Cheers.

if you're absolutely sure, i'll remove your account right now. i'd encourage you to just unsubscribe from the threads you are currently a part of, and just take a break, but if it's somehting you're set on then i can ban your account for you if you like.

Just a thought here, but wouldn't it be better to have the email notification box unticked as default?

i dont know, i'm sure alot of people actually rely on it. most folks answer in a thread knowing they kinda become a part of it. if they want to make the decision to just post and vanish, they should have to work a little harder than the rest of us.

I always get e-mail notifications. This is how I do follow ups. I'm subscribed to over 1500 threads and I think out of them all I've unsubscribed to three or four. Thats just how I do it.

As possibly AD's record holder for subscribed threads, ie i'm subscribed to 10964 threads, even i don't get very many emails each day. Even if i did, i'd just unsubscribe to the ones i didn't want or need to see or better still i'd just untick the email notification box when posting something. Simple really, no drastic actions needed
