I have ruined over 10 cdr's now trying to burn this damn exploit and im about to start breaking ish everywhere! What should be in the cdgenps2 when I create my images? I have system, expinst.elf, cdvd.irx, junk, title.db from my psx game, and my files folder. And in my files folder i have boot.elf, hdloader.elf, ipconfig, ps2ip.irx, ps2link.irx, ps2smap.irx. Then after all that I burn the image using nero startsmart and create disc from image. After its created I use my fliptop and smcd 3.0 on v9 ps2 and when I swap discs using the disc I created i get the pink screen on smcd and it just hangs!!! HELP, what the hell am i doing wrong GRRRRRRRRRRR.

PM me w/ your email addy and the SLUS_XXX name for the PS1 game you will be using to boot with. I will step you thru the rest, and email a proven tutorial, for good measure.

    No worries!

I went thru 5 Cd-Rs already and still no luck. I thought it might be the brand of CD-Rs i'm using... :(

chozunone, did you modify the TITLE.DB file using titleman.exe? If you havent, put your original PS1 CD in your PC. There is a file that will be similar to SLUS_XXX.XXX
Write this down and use titleman to add it to TITLE.DB or PM me with the file name for help. Then burn it to CD.

My bad had to do this after putting in the game. "Now make sure the exploit memory card is in slot one and boot your psx cd then once it loades up...press R1 then go to "MC0:" then click X on it then go to "BADATA-SYSTEM/". Choose it then go to "hdloader.elf" and click X on it." Working now!

First make a backup of all your exploit files on the PC. Then open system.cnf in notepad and see what the boot elf is. This will be the file that runs when you use the exploit. rename your hdloader elf to the boot elf name, after you get rid of your ps2menu elf. This will boot the system directly to hdloader. At least you will know if ps2menu is the problem.

Well not done yet. I can get it to load but everytime i load the exploit psx disk i have to that R1 click on mco: then click this then that. What can I do so that it just goes directly to HD Loader when I load the PSX disc?

which one in the files folder is my ps2menu? and i open up system and it reads BOOT2 = cdrom0:\EXPINST.ELF;1 so does that mean i have to change the hdloader.elf name to expinst.elf?

That is correct. Based on system.cnf, expinst.elf is the filename that it will execute. So backup your files, then rename the hdloader elf to expinst.elf

Well tried and no luck, I still get Adam and Toms HDD menu and have to press R1, select MC0:, select Badata.sys, select hdloader.elf when i insert the psx game to start explotit. The only thing i changed was HDLOADER.ELF in the files folder to EXPINST.ELF. On CDGENPS2 I still put the system, expinst, cdvd, title, then files. Any suggestions?

Hey guys - do you need DMS3 to boot exploit?

Nope just 2mb of free space on your MC. And depending on what version ps2 you have different boot software.

    Different boot software?

I was thinking that HDLoader booting off of a MC would be incredible, as it would completely eliminate the need for any laser usage besides loading games (ie. the longest possible PS2 life ever, since v12 will probably be unmoddable)

Could you please elaborate the point please?

Well if you want to boot HDLoader directly from MC yes I heard you do need DMS3. What I meant was that for booting the exploit you need a psx game with the Loader on the MC. But to get the exploit to install on your MC its different from v1-v8 then v9-v11, thats all.

I have a V10 PS2 and I am having problem installing the MC exploit. I use SwapMagic 3.0, and have built the appropriate CD, like Rotary 8 mentioned in his post of Sep. 30, but I am not having any luck. After I swap the SM cd with the exploit CD, I get this pinkish lines around the SM screen!!!

Now, some of these posts including 'notmyname's mentioned that the boot procedure is different for V8 and up.

Would some one please help me out. I am getting very flustered with burning these cds.

    Thanks in advance.
