hey guys, a couple of of guys in my house wanted to play age of empires 2 online last night as a house challenge, but we couldnt figure out how since microsoft doesnt support it anymore since 2006. we tried the LAN style by just putting in the host computers IP address but it did nothing. so i guess my question is does anyone know how if you can still play online or not, and if you can, how? thanks
hey man do u know hamachi? www.hamachi.com it works like a lan network create a new networck everibody should login 2 that netw and play i play age with my m8-s for years like that
You have a severe problem, but it can be fixed in about the time it takes to fully read this and scroll down to set up the game in the LAN section if you are going to use LAN. Get the idea? You were trying to have them connect through the internet. Use lan. If you are unable to join or see each other's games while you are using lan, check your router settings. I even had trouble when I played lan. If you have a Netgear wireless router then I will give you a few tips to help play. ))I got the following from microsoft's K-base. Initial TCP Connection 47624 Outgoing 47624 Incoming Subsequent TCP Incoming 2300-2400 2300-2400 Subsequent TCP Outgoing 2300-2400 2300-2400 Subsequent UDP Incoming 2300-2400 2300-2400 Subsequent UDP Outgoing 2300-2400 2300-2400 Plus, in addition to that, for Netgear you need to find and turn of uPnP, Universal Plug 'n' Play. Again, I know these changes are the minimum and maximim you need because I've refined it from resetting my router multiple times, setting up to play at my friends house, and even my grandma's house. If you have any questions about this or you want to play me, just send an email to ADeadFishDied@gmail.com. Have fun.
help! I have been trying to play age of empires II on gamespy with no luck. When the host starts the game, after a few minutes it tells me 'Unable to join'. Can someone very clearly tell me what patches i need, and where to get the FREE? (i hate fileplanet, why should i have to subscribe for a few lousy downloads)
