your motherboard has an agp slot for the videocard so any videocard you want has to be agp not poci not pci\\e but agp. check this link on agp videcards http://www.canadacomputers.com/search_r...0&cPath=43_1200 get more ram as 750megs is not enough as your board can go to 3gigs of ddr ram not ddr2 nor ddr3 but ddr. motherboard spec link http://www.motherboards.org/mobot/mothe...28MS-6585%29/
ThankS ddp for replying. thanks for the site recommendations. will get more ram, upgrade power supply the real problem is how do i pick a graphics card. suitable for the motherboard . ms-6585 are all agp the same size and fit. will any agp card fit. any info would be appreciated Is there a site that can guide me through a graphics card upgrade thanks again
your agp slot is for an agp8x card so most agp cards will work in it. you just have to worry about the height of the card as some desktop cases cannot hold a full height videocard as you won't be able to close the cover of the case.
be better off saving up some more money & get a dual core with 4gb-8gb ram or more,it'll have hd audio,8 usb ports,hd graphic card & anywhere between 80-1tb hdd & if it's ex-lease you won't pay more than $200nz for a dell optiplex 755 2009,well that was two years ago now the issue you'll most probably face with what you want to do will be system resources, you'll need to be careful what programs you install or it will come to a crawl
