    I have a problem!!!

I had installed a nvidia geforce 6600gt, 128mb video card which has died on me :(

I have tried searching for a similar card but have hit a snag. My PC says it's a AGP 1.0, 2x. Yet every card i look at states 4x or 8x.

    Can i put a 4x or 8x in my machine? (1.8ghz processor)

    Pleeeeeeeeeeeease someone help!!!

    Ta!

That board can take up to 4x carda by the looks of the spec, but they have to be early revision 1.5V cards by the looks of things.
Are you a gamer or do you just need something to display a picture?
If the latter you could just use a PCI graphics card to avoid the hassle.

You have both. Actually, you don't just have one PCI slot, you have five.
If you play anything decent though you'll want some sort of accelerated graphics card. Best I can suggest is to try and find an exact match for your old card on ebay.

By the way, are you sure it's the video card that's the problem?

I have searched EBay but my model is not there :(

Yes, it is definatley the card as a lot of the cells have popped!!

I'm lost with the comment i have 5 pci slots! Where are they?

I look inside my pc and i see a slot labelled AGPPro and this is where i put my card which is also the input card for my monitor. If i got a pci card where would my monitor input be? (make sense? lol!)

    (Thanks for your help btw)

Your AGP card goes in the brown slot. PCI slots are the white ones to its left.
