Dear all whom I hope can help me with my problems, I received a 3rd generation 15 GB iPod for Christmas. I have a Windows XP computer. The 3rd gen. uses a dock connecter. iTunes and the iPod work great. The only problem I am having is that when I plug my iPod in, and it should automatically update. When iTunes comes up a message pops p and says: "Songs on the iPod 'Podcasts' can not be updated because all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist." What does this mean I've done, and what can I do do fix it?
The 3rd generation iPod does not support podcast. Only the second gen Mini and up plus the 4th gen iPod and up. Does this solve ur problem?
First of all do u have songs on iTunes? If so just plug in ur iPod and it should automatically update and ur songs should be loading to ur iPod. If this doesn't happen, does iTunes recognize ur iPod (as in do u get the iPod picture on the side column? Than go into ur iPod settings and click automatically update. Post back if u have any questions or doubts.
I did this. When I click automatically update it brings up the same message as before... how can I fix this problem? It does recognize the iPod.
Can u listen to ur songs on iTunes or are the files missing? Also try going to apple.com, click support and go through the iTunes problem.
Yes iTunes will play my songs, the files are not missing. iTunes works perfectly. My problem is not mentioned at all in the Apple support section.
