Hey Guys, I recently installed a clean copy of vista on my PC and I then went to the ASUS website as usual to download the drivers for the motherboard, however this time when I click the global link to download the drivers it tells me to install Akamai downloads manager but I cant find it anywhere on the net so I can download and install the thing. This is really fustrating me anyone with any ideas? http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us http://support.asus.com/download/do...Daudio_V51005791_V6015791.zip&SLanguage=en-us
So Asus has decided that making bad quality components is not bad enough? Now they want to install a useless download manager that you will never use again (nor could you even if you wanted to)... There should be a bar at the top of the window that tells you to install this worthless download tool.
I noticed this problem the other day as I needed a bios and driver update for this mobo. The site works fine in Firefox 3.5 now as its just a java based download manager that run in the browser. For a day or so it was only working in 32 bit IE. The manager would not work in IE x64 or FF 3.5.
it was very confusing download driver from asus.com but i got a stuff. when asus resuested to use akamai, we needn' really. you'l see in the addressbar look like this: http://support.asus.com/download/download_item_dlm.aspx?file=http://dlcdnas.asus.com/pub/ASUS/lan/broadcom/5702/5702.zip&SLanguage=en-us then what you need is open new tab, paste the http://dlcdnas.asus.com/pub/ASUS/lan/broadcom/5702/5702.zip into your new tab addressbar. you'll get what you need... regard mizno kruge
