I've used Alcohol 120 for a while on my PC and it's a great program. When I used it to download / burn "The Need For Speed", it created a virtual drive (F). There was also a CD crack file on my desktop: NFSMW-MINI.mdf I uninstalled the game but the F drive is still there. Using the device manager, I've uninstalled the drive, the Alcohol SCSI controller as well as the bios extension. Everything seems fine until I reboot and it all comes back. The NFSMW-MINI.mdf file is impossible to remove! I've uninstalled Alcohol 120 and all related files / registry entries, but the F drive is still there as well as the .mdf file. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks Windows XP Home SP2 AMD Athlon 3200+ ASUS V9950 Ultra 256 Mb Asus A7N8x D. mb 1024 DDR OCZ Ram
You cant uninstall the virtual drive EXCEPT through alcohol 120%, It sounds like you disabled before you removed it from the alchol settings, Therefore leaving the image trapped on the 'virtual' drive, That have tried to delete but couldnt because the information is there. I would try doing a system restore to a point before you mounted the image. Then you can simply dis-able the virtual drive THROUGH alchol if need be. The problem surely could have been caused by the crack file, Which is not condoned here on afterdawn. Good luck
