OK.... this might sound like a really stupid question, but i am tryin to learn, i am 16 yrs old and i would really like to know what the heck you mean by "virtual Drive." I have built my own computer and it has a lot of cool crap, and right now i am looking towards backing up my PS2 games. the software i have includes: DVD dycrypter, DVD Shrink, Alcohol 120% and Nero. basically all i want to know is what all does "Alcohol 120%" do and what a "Virtual Drive" is
A virtual Drive is a drive, that works in exactly the same way as a Pyhisical drive, but on difference being that there is no "tangiable" media present. I.E.: You don't actually require a CD to be inserted, more like an IMAGE needs to be mounted/unmonuted upon/from it! An IMAGE is an exact copy of one CD. All the files that are on the CD are 'moulded' into one (on the occasion, two) files. Examples of these files are: .cue .bin .mds .iso ...and there others out there...i think!? Hope u understand that!...however, if u dont, then dont hesitate to ask me something that u are unsure of! I am here to help! Phoenix
That helps a lot, but just wondering, lets say i (didn't) put a movie onto a virtual drive F:/ how long would that movie stay there? as long as i leave it there or will it just delete the non-existing file? Coggs
coggs your straying from the original point of grrr's post, but to answer your question, Yes the image will stay mounted until you unmount it, or you can set alcohol to unmount its images upon reboot. I have had the same problem as grrr though and uninstalling the prog and reinstalling it worked for me, just letting alcohol reboot when it needed to configure the virtual drives. Alchol has great tech support from what I have seen, you should check there if you keep having the problem. I'm sure they will be able to find you a solution.
yea about that i tried everything that was mentioned nothing worked so i used the tried and trued trick of reformating and woohoo it worked
