Thinking of getting one -- of the HP Touchsmart, MSI, Sony, Dell, Asus or Gateway. Which one do you prefer if you have one? I've looked at the HP I5 model, and the MSI low line. Both were nice. I'm of course trying to keep it all fairly cheap. Under $1k. I like the looks of the Gateway One, and in a way would love to contribute to an underdog.
Since they are all trash, and they are all just for appearances, buy the one that you think looks best.
all trash? when you tested each one -- what one was the least trashy? Or are you just saying this because it's not a 15 year olds computer gaming system of choice? I'm not getting one to run winbench scrores on all day.
i wouldn't buy 1 as most likely can't be upgraded & if something inside craps out, the whole thing has to go in to be worked on. i have a customer who bought a similar 1 from apple for about $2500Can & now regrets buying it.
I work on computers for a living, as I suspect many in here do. Though I have never taken apart an all in one for repair. So, I'm not concerened about anything going wrong with it. it's going to have the same vendor components as any PC. I was just asking if anyone had first hand experience using any of them. I know that the touch interface sensitivity and reaction time varries from maker to maker. I work for HP and can get a discount on the Touchsmart. But it does look a little like it's stuck in the 80's with it's styling. Plus, way over priced in comparison to others.
I think it actually has the same components as a laptop not a pc this would mean no upgradability and if something goes wrong sending it off to a specialist to get it fixed but they look good and if space is severely limited I guess they would be a good buy
Thanks. laptop, desktop, all-in-one = PC PC= Personal Computer. And I do work on Dell and HP Laptops. So, no need to send anything in for repair. I just cannot find many reviews comparing manufacturers.
