All my DVD's are to big???

I have been backing up my dvd's succesfully using DVD shrink and DVD decrypter. I use Ulead movie factory 3.5 to then burn my DVD's. Recently I have not been able to burn any dvd's because it is saying that are too big to fit onto the disc. I have tried several different dvd's like shrek2, monster inc., and miracle on 34th st., and all are too big, and must be compressed. Unfortunately when I try to compress them using Ulead it it unsucessful. I can not get it to compress using Ulead at all, it just won't complete the process. Any suggestions?

Are you trying to backup the whole DVD ?

Compressing video probably has it's limit, and DVD Shrink or other compressor probably compresses it to the MAX but still won't fit.

Just like a ZIP file, you can't compress more than a certain point !

Maybe those DVD just have way too much stuff on them.
You will probably have to compress JUST the main movie, or drop some extras off there, and maybe then it will fit.

I think Ulead has some built in feature to prevent you from compressing too much. You say you tried Shrink right? Shrink should be able to compress them fine.

When compressing, make sure you take out any unwanted audio and subtitles. Also, compress things like menus and extra features as much as you can. If the main movie gets too compressed (a number smaller than 60%), you can always use Shrinks Reauthor mode, however, I have compressed movies as far as 52% and the quality is perfect even on a 65" screen. Since you have Ulead, you can import .VOB files and add your own menus if you want.

If you want to do a play only movie, use Reauthor mode and set Shrink's output to "ISO image file and Burn with Decrypter". After you click "backup" it will give you the option to choose the output.

If you want to add your own menu, choose output to DVD Folder and open the VOBs with Ulead's DVD building software (I forget the name).

Also do not forget to use Deep Analysis with DVD Shrink. You can either click "Analysis" after you are finished with your compressing, or after clicking "backup" go to quality settings and check "Deep Analysis".
